About the Instructor

Alexander Danner is a writer of comics and plays, and is co-author with Steven Withrow of the book, Character Design for Graphic Novels. He teaches courses on making comics at The Art Instituteo f Boston and The Cambridge Center for adult education, and is an adjunct in the department of Humanities and Social Sciences at The Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology. He has spoken about webcomics as a guest lecturer at The Center for Cartoon Studies and as a frequent panelist at the Arisia sci-fi convention. He writes about comices for Webcomics.com, and has also written for The Webcomics Examiner and Comixtalk (formerly Comixpedia).

His comics include the short stories The Discovery of Spoons, illustrated by John Barber, Five Ways to Love a Cockroach, illustrated by Neal Von Flue, and Together Again, illustrated by Bill Duncan. More of his work can be found via Twentysevenletters.com.
